STRAUSS Galla– Anniversary Concert with the Salon Orchestra of TNOMID
This year marks 200 years since the birth of Johann Strauss II – the composer who transformed the waltz from a social dance into symphonic art.
On this occasion, the Teatrul Național de Operetă și Musical „Ion Dacian” presents a unique anniversary concert in Romania:
A Strauss Concert performed by the Salon Orchestra of TNOMID, in the format and style in which this music was originally conceived for imperial salons, not for formal stages.
The sound, the repertoire, the style, and the stage presence honor the authentic Viennese tradition.
Nothing is adapted. Nothing is compromised.
The program includes waltzes, polkas, galops, and well-known or rediscovered orchestral works, in their original orchestrations, performed by the Salon Orchestra of the Teatrul Național de Operetă și Musical „Ion Dacian”, alongside the theatre’s soloists.
This concert is not about the past. It is about the precision, grace, and power of a music that lives through detail.
It is a sonic and visual experience that invites Romanian audiences to discover—or rediscover—what the Strauss style truly means, beyond clichés.
Featuring the soloists:
Daniela Bucșan, Doina Scripcaru and Mihai Urzicană.
