Ileana Lenghel

She graduated from the “George Enescu” High School of Arts in Bucharest in 1991. She later continued her studies at the University of Music Bucharest, Faculty of Musical Performance – Classical Singing Department.

Professional Background

In 1993, she joined the “Ion Dacian” National Operetta and Musical Theatre as a soprano in the chorus, performing in productions such as:
The Land of Smiles, The Merry Widow, The Bird Seller, Rose Marie, The Gondoliers, Viennese Blood.

In 2005, she became a lyrical artist, expanding her activity with secondary roles in productions such as:
My Fair Lady, The Gondoliers, The Bird Seller, The Gypsy Baron, Offenbach’s Tales.

In 2006, she completed her Master’s studies at the University of Music Bucharest, in the class of Professor Silvia Voinea, focusing on musical theatre and operetta. Her dissertation, titled “The Musical – The Evolved Form of Operetta”, was accompanied by a staged performance of Countess Maritza, in which she performed the leading role.

She has won numerous awards, including:

  • Third Prize at the Lied Competition in Brașov (2005), organized by Mariana Nicolesco
  • “Antonino Miserendino” Special Prize at the Alcamo Competition, Italy (2006)

She has also participated in numerous national and international tours, including performances in Spain, Italy, and Germany.
