
During his studies in Romania and later in Poland at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music, conductor Constantin Grigore trained under several renowned masters of conducting, including Horia Andreescu, Petru Andrieșei, Ilarion Ionescu‑Galați, and the Polish conductor Marek Pijarowski. He has participated in numerous conducting courses and masterclasses, such as the Málaga Philharmonic Masterclass (Málaga 2017 – Prof. Manuel Hernández‑Silva), Weimar Meisterkurse (Weimar 2016 – Prof. Nicolás Pasquet), the International Masterclass for Orchestral Conducting and Phenomenology of Music (Craiova 2012 – Prof. Konrad von Abel), Wiener Meisterkurse (Vienna 2008 – Prof. Salvador Mas Conde), The Roads of Romanticism (Warsaw 2006), and has also attended courses led by Jorma Panula, Jin Wang, and Mark Stringer.
Constantin Grigore further refined his craft through an assistantship at the Rundfunk‑Sinfonieorchester Berlin (2011) under the guidance of Maestro Marek Janowski, and later (2012) at Bayerischer Rundfunk and the Münchner Philharmoniker, where he attended rehearsals and concerts conducted by Mariss Jansons, Bernard Haitink, Alan Gilbert, Paavo Järvi, Lawrence Foster, and Vasily Petrenko, while simultaneously taking part in phenomenology courses taught by Konrad von Abel.
He has conducted concerts with numerous major orchestras both in Romania and abroad, including: the George Enescu Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the Romanian Youth Orchestra, the Radio Chamber Orchestra, the National Radio Orchestra, the “Moldova” State Philharmonic in Iași, the “Banatul” State Philharmonic in Timișoara, the “Oltenia” State Philharmonic in Craiova, the “Ion Dumitrescu” Philharmonic in Râmnicu Vâlcea, the “Paul Constantinescu” Philharmonic in Ploiești, the Pitești State Philharmonic, the Sibiu State Philharmonic, the Oradea State Philharmonic, the “Nae Leonard” Theatre Orchestra in Galați, the “Oleg Danovski” Opera and Ballet Theatre Orchestra, and the “Ion Dacian” National Operetta and Musical Theatre Orchestra in Bucharest.
Abroad, he has conducted ensembles such as the R‑20 Chamber Orchestra in Wrocław, the Kielce Philharmonic, the Rzeszów Philharmonic, the Zabrze Philharmonic, the Lublin Philharmonic, the National Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Moldova, and the “Serghei Lunchevici” National Philharmonic in Chișinău.
In 2009, on the occasion of the Easter Holidays, he conducted the Bucharest Symphonic Pops in the extraordinary concert featuring Al Bano and Montserrat Caballé in Constitution Square, Bucharest.
In 2013, he was selected as conductor of the Evolution Orchestra for Steve Vai’s tour in Russia, Poland, Italy, Spain, and Romania.
In 2014, he led the Oltenia Philharmonic Orchestra on a concert tour in South Korea.
In 2009, he served as conductor of the George Enescu National College of Arts Symphony Orchestra, with which he performed at the Romanian Athenaeum, Radio Hall, and within the George Enescu International Festival.
Between 2013–2015, he was the principal conductor of the Oltenia Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in Craiova, and between 2017–2018 he served as artistic consultant of the Sibiu State Philharmonic.
Since 2009, he has been invited to conduct at every edition of the George Enescu International Festival.
He is also a founding member and conductor of the Camerata Regală, with which he has performed extensively in Romania as well as in Albania, the Republic of Moldova, Germany, and Poland.
At the invitation of the Romanian Cultural Institute, he conducted Camerata Regală in Mozart Saal at the Vienna Konzerthaus (January 2016), in Brussels (June 2018), and in 2019, on the occasion of Romania’s National Day, in the Grand Hall of the Royal Philharmonic of Liège.
In 2017, he was invited to conduct the Royal Philharmonic of Liège, leading a series of seven concerts in Liège (Philharmonic Hall), Brussels (Bozar), Ath, Ottignies, and Namur.
He has collaborated with renowned soloists such as Gabriel Croitoru, Nicolae Licareț, Florin Croitoru, Rebekka Hartmann, Daniel Podlovschi, Florin Ionescu‑Galați, Aura Twarowska, Teodor Ilincăi, Cristian Mogoșan, Irina Iordăchescu, Sergi Giménez Carreras, Katarzyna Dondalska, Ștefan Ignat, Ana Maria Donose, Cristina Anghelescu, Ioana Cristina Goicea, Josu de Solaun, Dana Borșan, Raluca Ouatu, Zlatomir Fung, Tina Munteanu, Cristian Sandrin, Laura Nicorescu, Anna Mirescu, Wictor Kociuban, Piotr Banaś, Alessandro Safina, and the “Marin Constantin” Madrigal National Chamber Choir.
Constantin Grigore has received numerous awards and distinctions. As valedictorian of the National University of Music Bucharest, he received the “Frații Bucovineni” Foundation Prize (2006), the First Prize at the Garabet Avachian Interpretation Competition, as well as various diplomas awarded by the Romanian Government for his collaboration and coordination of major cultural projects. He has worked with prestigious institutions such as the Romanian Ministry of Culture, Artexim, and ICR Warsaw, and between 2017–2018 served as artistic consultant of the Sibiu State Philharmonic.
He is currently the principal conductor of the Camerata Regală Orchestra and of the “Ion Dacian” National Operetta and Musical Theatre in Bucharest.
