The son of the well-known composer of waltzes and conductor, with the same name, Johann Strauss (October 25, 1825 – June 3, 1899), traces his father’s footsteps from the age of 19, when he makes his debut in the musical life of Vienna. After 1863 he gives up the conducting of the orchestra and devotes all his energy to the compositional activity, and at the same time to the musical genre Operetta.
