Professional background
During his high‑school years, he participated in seven national percussion olympiads, earning First and Second Prizes.
Between 1997–2001 he performed as a percussionist with the ELBE WESER European Youth Symphony Orchestra in Stade, Germany, with which he toured in Germany, Romania, and Iceland.
In 1999 he became a member of the “Gheorghe Dima” Percussion Ensemble led by Professor Grigore Pop, with whom he toured nationally and internationally (FIMU – Belfort, France, 2001).
He has performed as a percussionist and drummer in various productions alongside the Bucharest National Opera, the Bucharest Metropolitan Orchestra, as well as the State Philharmonics of Timișoara, Cluj, Craiova, Râmnicu Vâlcea, and Târgoviște.
His activity as a musical‑theatre percussionist‑drummer began in 2011 with the orchestra of the Ion Dacian National Operetta and Musical Theatre in the first staging of the musical “REBECCA.” He was later invited to join the largest musical productions in Romania: “My Fair Lady,” “Mamma Mia,” “București Je T’Aime,” “Next to Normal,” “School of Rock,” and “Cabaret.”
Passionate about world‑music, he became a collaborating drummer for internationally renowned artists such as Gheorghe Zamfir (Romania) and Yasmin Levy (Israel), and founded the world‑music project COBZALITY in 2012, featuring major folk artists such as Matilda Pascal Cojocărița, Cezar Cazanoi, and Dorin Cuibariu Jr., with performances in Romania and abroad (Turkey, Italy).
He has been active in modern music since 2000 as a founding member of the unconventional percussion group “SISTEM,” with which he undertook international tours (Singapore, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Spain, Italy, and Latvia), as well as major national events such as the Hagi Gala (2001) or the opening act for the Depeche Mode concert in Bucharest (2006).
Together with the band Sistem and Luminița Anghel, he achieved for Romania its highest score to date at the EUROVISION competition — 3rd place — in Kyiv (2005).
