Bucharest enters Romeo and Juliet week

Bucharest enters Romeo and Juliet week

Season opening with a high‑energy musical at the Bucharest Operetta. Discounted tickets for pupils and students

The musical Romeo and Juliet opens the 2025/26 season of the Ion Dacian National Operetta and Musical Theatre in Bucharest with a series of four consecutive performances (11–14 September). It is a modern and dynamic show, constantly updated by the Hungarian director KERO, who is in Bucharest these days for rehearsals. An equally important novelty is the debut of two young artists in the role of Romeo, who will alternate on stage: Octavian Ene (11, 13 September) and Tomer Weissbuch (12, 14 September). The Operetta Theatre is launching the “Back to School” campaign, expanding the number of discounted tickets for pupils and students on the occasion of the new school year.

    Tickets: www.ticketstore.ro and www.eventim.ro.

“The debut postponed by tenor Octavian Ene’s injury is one of the most anticipated moments — for the audience, for the Operetta team, and for the artist himself. I know the show very well since this spring; I’m not nervous, I just have an immense desire to return to the stage and to reward the trust and support I’ve been given,” said tenor Octavian Ene.

For his part, tenor Tomer Weissbuch is eager as well and shares what he believes will be especially interesting for audiences: “Each of us — Octavian Ene and I — brings a different perspective to Romeo, so the audience will enjoy two completely different experiences. It’s the same show, yet different.

The theatre’s manager, Radu Petrovici, promises a memorable season opening: “It is a great joy to begin the year with this production. We have worked intensely, we are a united and enthusiastic team, and we can’t wait to share the emotion with our audience.

The show will have four performances on 11, 12, 13 and 14 September at the Ion Dacian National Operetta and Musical Theatre.
Tickets available at www.ticketstore.ro and www.eventim.ro.

After the Romeo and Juliet series, the program of the National Operetta and Musical Theatre continues in September with other highly anticipated productions: My Fair Lady (18, 20, 21 September) and Rebecca (25, 27, 28 September).
