Program of the National Operetta and Musical Theatre “Ion Dacian” 19–31 January 2026

The last ten days of January bring to the stage of the Operetta and Musical Theatre the musical Rebecca, the operetta Viennese Blood, and the recital Operetta to Everyone’s Taste — an event within the Opereta Lounge series. Seven memorable evenings in which you are invited to join us, enjoy stories, an effervescent atmosphere, and music

    MAIN HALL PROGRAM

The musical Rebecca returns to the stage of the Operetta Theatre after almost half a year. The production created by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay, based on the novel of the same name by Daphne du Maurier, had its world premiere in 2006 at the Raimund Theater in Vienna.

The action takes place in a deeply patriarchal era and explores relationship issues ranging from infidelity, anxiety, guilt, and confusion to the discovery of true love and inner peace, all set within a gothic atmosphere visually conveyed through the dark and cold rooms of the Manderley estate.
