Iolanda Petrescu

She graduated from the Choreography High School in 1995. She later continued her studies at the “I.L. Caragiale” National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest, Choreography Department.

She is also a tenured teacher at the “Floria Capsali” Choreography High School, and in 2018 she received certification from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy.

Professional Background

In 2000, she became First Ballet Soloist of the “Ion Dacian” National Operetta and Musical Theatre, where she continues to perform to this day. During this period, she has danced in productions such as:
Viennese Blood, Marco Polo’s Secret, The Bird Seller, The Bat, The Merry Widow, Hello Dolly, The Fountain of Blanduzia, Let Me Sing, My Fair Lady, Paris, mon amour!, Victoria and Her Hussar, Maria de Buenos Aires, The Bourgeois Gentleman, Silvia, Countess Maritza.

As a ballet soloist, she has collaborated with prestigious institutions such as the Romanian National Opera, performing in the Opera Gala.

Her repertoire includes solo roles in productions such as:

Her artistic activity is complemented by her work as a choreographer, signing the choreography for the productions Dance Around the World and A Night in Venice, A Night in Vienna, serving as coordinator for the show Gala Dansului, and project coordinator for the production Alice in Wonderland.

She completed advanced training courses in the United States at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy.

She has won numerous awards as a pedagogue in national and international competitions and is also featured in the “Who’s Who” – Gallery of Romanian Personalities.
